P90X: Day 13

Workout:
Earlier today, I helped my husband’s eldest daughter move to a new apartment. With the Kenpo X workout, today has been filled with activity and hard work. I didn’t get to start this workout until 11:30 at night, mostly because I fell asleep on the couch when we got home. I’m very proud of the fact that I didn’t let additional commitments sideline my commitment to myself and completing every day of this program as scheduled.

I still struggle with coordination with some of the moves. My back kicks are pretty lame and I really have no idea what I’m doing in the Star Blocks. It’s still the fastest, most fun workout in the series. Part of the fun is that you can tell Tony Horton loves martial arts and Kenpo. He’s still his typical, goofy, lovable self, but even more so on this DVD. He’s relaxed, high energy & offers no real breaks.

I wasn’t perfect when it came to food today. I had my shake like (my new) normal, but I ran out of bananas and it didn’t taste the same. Luckily, I went grocery shopping this morning and remedied that situation. I didn’t really eat again until around 6pm when I had half a subway sandwich (Subway Club with bacon & avocado, no mayo, oil or vinegar), a bag of baked Lays chips and a coke. When I got home, I drank a ton of water. I’m still thirsty, so I’ll probably drink more water before bed. I’m no longer used to drinking sodas, so the coke was extra sweet tasting. I find that I’m also really sensitive to salt these days. I used to love caesar salads, but now they’re just way too salty for me to really enjoy any more.

Tomorrow is a day off, or Stretch X. I’ll be doing the DVD while my husband takes the day off.
