P90X: Day 15

Workout:
Things are definitely getting easier as I continue into my third week of P90X. I can do more reps, more pushups, more ab exercises. I’m not perfect, but I can feel definite improvement.

This evening, after my workout, I was also able to catch up on a few of the meditations from Oprah & Deepak Chopra. I’m about three days behind. Tonight was very soothing and I hope to catch up even more tomorrow night.

Food today was pretty good. I had my shakeology for breakfast. For lunch, I had lentil soup. For dinner, I sautéed some kale and dandelion greens in olive oil and garlic. Then I added shiitake, oyster and woodear mushrooms and the finished it with a splash of sesame oil. I had lots of water along with my customary large latte.

I’ve been thinking on why I am doing this – documenting every day that I’m doing P90X. I’ve realized that so much of what I dislike about people or communities these days is the lack of commitment in every day life. Some may also call it consistency or discipline. In any case, it is showing up every day, doing your best, even, perhaps especially when you don’t feel like it. This is my small way of committing to something and having the discipline to see it to the end. Even if my results are negligible – and arguably, I’ve been working very hard for a one percent reduction in body fat and an inch off my waist and hips – I still can look in the mirror and tell myself that I did my very best every day, for 90 days straight. Hopefully it becomes habit.
